SVG is ideal for logos and icons on the web, but social networks, slide decks, email clients and many apps want a plain bitmap. ConvertCove renders your SVG at whatever size you ask for, so the PNG is sharp rather than an upscaled blur.

How to convert SVG to PNG

    1. Click Select SVG files or drag them onto the box above. You can add as many as you like.
    2. Check that the target says PNG. Click the slider icon next to a file to change its options.
    3. Press Convert. Each file shows its own progress, and the work happens on your device.
    4. Download files one by one, or use Download all (ZIP). Press Convert more to start a new batch.

For retina displays, export at twice the size you plan to display, for example 800 px wide for a 400 px slot.

    SVG vs PNG

    What is SVG?

SVG describes shapes, paths and text as XML, so it scales to any size without losing sharpness. It is the format of choice for logos, icons and diagrams, but it cannot be uploaded to many platforms. More about the SVG format.

    What is PNG?

PNG stores a fixed grid of pixels losslessly with full transparency, making it the right bitmap format for rendered vector artwork. More about the PNG format.

When to convert SVG to PNG

    • You need a logo for a social profile, marketplace listing or email signature.
    • PowerPoint, Google Slides or a word processor displays your SVG incorrectly.
    • An app store, game engine or mobile toolkit needs PNG assets at specific sizes.
    • You want a fallback image for software that cannot render vectors.

    Quality and settings

Set the width (or height) in the options before converting: the SVG is drawn directly at that size, so a 2048 px export is as crisp as a 64 px one. Without a size, the dimensions in the SVG’s width/height or viewBox are used. Transparent backgrounds stay transparent. Rendering is done by your browser’s SVG engine, so files that reference external fonts or images may fall back to system fonts; convert text to outlines in your design tool for exact results.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the output size?

Open the options and type a width or height. The other dimension follows the SVG’s aspect ratio.

Why does my text look different?

If the SVG uses a web font that is not embedded, your browser substitutes a system font. Convert text to paths before exporting the SVG to avoid this.

    Is the background transparent?

Yes, unless the SVG itself draws a background shape.

Can I get a JPG or ICO instead?

Yes. Pick JPG, WebP, AVIF or ICO in the target list. JPG fills transparent areas with your chosen background colour.
